This course discusses a brief background to the study of philosophy in general, and a detailed study of the Adventist philosophy of Education as explained in the Bible and the Spirit of Prophecy in particular. Discussion centers around such aspects of the teaching learning process as philosophy, education, philosophy of education, sources of knowledge, aims of education, the significance of philosophy of education to the teaching profession; man, his nature before and after fall, metaphysics (reality), epistemology (knowledge), axiology (value or goals of education), the learner, the teacher, the school, methods of teaching/learning, curriculum, work programme, and dressing. It may also include some philosophers whose philosophical thoughts have influenced the other Christian philosophical world views such as Socrates, Plato, St. Augustine, Thomas Aquinas, and Ignatius Loyola.
