This course in advanced theoretical concepts of medical-surgical Nursing prepares students to make sound judgements, to set priorities and to work efficiently in critical situations based on scientific principles. The areas of interest in this course will be cell biology, Endocrine, Immune, Cardiovascular and Respiratory Systems. The students will be expected to apply the principles of Pathophysiology learnt in this course to Paediatric Nursing, Out-Patient/Casualty, Renal and Critical care nursing. This course builds upon basic pathophysiology knowledge gained during medical surgical nursing experience NRSG 229.
