The course teaches management and nursing care of gynaecological conditions associated with pregnancy and child birth such as fistules, infertility, STIs abortion, menstrual disorders, ectopic pregnancy and reproductive oncology. Students utilize the nursing process to provide care for women who are victims of trauma in pregnancy, family abuse, incest, domestic violence and rape. Emotional support and counseling for the family is also included. Three hours of theory and 5 hours of clinical are provided.
