This course consists of an introduction to the philosophy and conceptual framework of the Nursing Department of the University of Eastern Africa, Baraton and to nursing roles and functions. It includes history, trends in Nursing, basic skills and their application to the nursing process. Opportunity is provided for the student to carry out skills in the campus laboratory and in the hospital. It introduces the student to the tools of communication, teaching and learning, problem solving and spiritual care. This course carries 3 credits of theory and 2 hours of practical in the campus lab.Prerequisites CHEM 112; BIOL 112
